A Londoner now living in LA, Katie Shipley of Kitty Coles Design does it all (and by does, we mean paints). Katie is on a pursuit to paint the world, and we more than support this endeavor! A blank canvas, a purse, a wall, Katie can take a plain ol’ denim jacket from Costco and turn it into wearable art. The kind of art you actually want to wear. It’s fun, it’s ‘grammable (if that’s your thing), it’s a throwback to her 12-year-old self’s love of puffy paint. (Raise your hand if you can relate 🙋♀️)
If you’re an LA local, you’ve likely seen Katie’s work on various murals and utility boxes throughout the city. As a participant of The Burbank Arts Beautification Program, dedicated to exhibiting visual art outside the constraints of museums and galleries, Katie painted the peice below, meant to represent the "amount of talent that gathers in this create hub we're in... The three stars say 'your name here' and it's supposed to inspire and encourage."
Inspired by nature and musings from her life, Katie draws and paints her pieces with an intricate eye and steady hand using various mediums and canvases. We love the delicate detail and personal touch that Katie applies to her art. She has a self-proclaimed obsession with lines, something you're sure to notice when studying her work!
Not only is Katie a talented artist, but she’s a cat lover too! Here at Loveable we are furriends to all, and we just adore Katie’s connection to her feline friend, Phoebe, or as she lovingly refers to her, “The Boss!”
